Barker ready for call

Blackpool defender Shaun Barker could return against Sheffield United after stepping up his recovery by playing for the reserves.

The full-back has been carrying a thigh injury but came through with no ill-effects in midweek and has told manager Simon Grayson he is ready to face the Blades at Bloomfield Road.

"I'm ready to go back into the team if selected," Barker revealed to the official club website.

He added: "I'm feeling good after the my workout for the reserves and hopefully the manager will have seen what I can do and know I'm available if required."
