Riga set for Blackpool job

Blackpool have reportedly agreed terms with ex-Charlton boss Jose Riga for the Belgian to become their next permanent manager.

The Seasiders have been on the look-out for a new head coach since the end of last season when stand-in manager Barry Ferguson decided to leave the club having kept them in the Championship.

Tangerines chairman Karl Oyston initially wanted a new manager on board before the end of May but the club's plans have been disrupted and it wasn't until last weekend that Oyston got the chance to speak to Riga.

The Blackpool chief is thought to have offered Riga the job on Sunday and a deal was expected to be completed by Monday night after the 56-year-old accepted the offer.

The Bloomfield Road outfit are now expected to confirm Riga as their new boss later this week after terms were agreed with the former Standard Liege manager.
