Seasiders to support Ince Jnr

Thomas Ince will not feel the wrath of the Bloomfield Road crowd this Saturday, according to the chairman of the Blackpool Supporters Association.

The England Under-21 international is expected to be in the Seasiders' squad for the home game against Doncaster as his team begin life without Paul Ince, Thomas' dad.

Ince senior, sacked on Tuesday after a dismal run of results, departed as an unpopular figure with BSA chairman Glenn Bowley claiming fans were "absolutely unanimous" in their wish to see him sacked by chairman Karl Oyston.

However, Bowley claims any dislike they harboured towards him is unlikely to be transferred onto Thomas Ince.

"I think it must be very, very difficult for Thomas," he told Press Association Sport.

"He's a brilliant talent, a great prospect for the future. He's going to go on and have a great career somewhere whether that's abroad, whether that's in this country, who knows. And I'm sure that the fans, if Thomas is playing on Saturday, will definitely get right behind him.

"It's been a very difficult week for him, more than anyone, because he'll go into training and what are all the players are going to be talking about? It's going to be really, really tough for him but I think come Saturday, if he's playing, the fans will give him a lot of support."

Thomas Ince's contract expires this summer and, given his exit appeared certain when his father was still in charge anyway, the chances of him leaving Bloomfield Road before Friday's transfer deadline day may have increased.

Bowley continued: "I've absolutely no doubt he'll be going, if not in January then the end of the season - that's stating the obvious. Between now and whenever that time comes hopefully he can put in some great performances."
