Tamir Cohen is facing a race against time to recover from injury ahead of Bolton's derby clash against Blackburn on Sunday.
The Israel international is struggling to recover from the groin injury that forced him to limp off after just 29 minutes of Bolton's 5-1 defeat at Aston Villa a fortnight ago.
Boss Gary Megson will give Cohen as long as possible to recover from the problem but it's feared that he will be forced to miss the clash at the Reebok Stadium.
Record signing Johan Elmander has been put on standby to take his starting place if he fails to overcome the problem and the Swede will be anxious to follow up his goal at Villa which was his first in 22 league games.
There is some good news for Megson, though, with Elmander and Chung-Yong Lee both reporting back fit on Thursday after playing internationals in midweek.
