Campo no longer bitter

BoltonFormer Bolton midfielder Ivan Campo has insisted that there are no longer any hard feelings between himself and the Trotters.

The former Real Madrid star was very vocal in his criticism of Bolton manager Gary Megson and chairman Phil Gartside after his departure from the Reebok Stadium at the end of last season.

Campo was upset at being unable to say a proper goodbye to the Bolton fans after five years at the club but insisted that he no longer habours any resentiment towards the Trotters.

"I was very upset at the way that I left the club. But I am not bitter and I wish everyone associated with Bolton all the best for the future," Campo told the Manchester Evening News.

"And I would like to say a very big thank-you to everyone who has taken the time and trouble to contact me with messages of support over the last couple of months. I had no idea that there would be so many.

"I would love to reply but there are so many that it would be impossible.

"I was upset at the way that I had left without ever having been given the opportunity to say goodbye to the fans. It would have been wonderful to have pulled on that white shirt one more time."
