Bolton boss Owen Coyle will be without Gary Cahill for the trip to Eastlands, while fellow centre-half Andy O'Brien remains a doubt.

Cahill has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after suffering from a blood clot in his arm, while O'Brien picked up a thigh injury in the goalless draw with Fulham and faces a late fitness test ahead of the trip to Manchester City.

If O'Brien fails to recover in time to face Roberto Mancini's side Danny Shittu could join Zat Knight in the heart of the Bolton defence, although Chris Basham replaced O'Brien during the game against Fulham and may be handed a start by Coyle.

Winger Vladmimir Weiss is unavailable due to the terms of his loan agreement, with midfielder Fabrice Muamba a doubt with an ankle problem.

Bolton will definitely be without Gavin McCann (thigh) and Ivan Klasnic (calf), the duo join long-term absentees Joey O'Brien (knee) and Sean Davis (knee) on the sidelines.
