Owen Coyle is confident that he can keep Gary Cahill at the Reebok Stadium despite the defender attracting a host of potential suitors.
The likes of Arsenal and Tottenham have been linked with a move for the 24-year-old who was valued by former Trotters manager Gary Megson as being worth £15million.
Megson's successor Coyle has now stated he has no plans to sell Cahill and has revealed that he had a clause written into his contract when he joined from Burnley that the club could not sell the defender without his consent.
"We have always been focused regarding Gary Cahill. I knew he wasn't going anywhere. That was one of of the stipulations when I came here," said Coyle.
The Scot went on to say that with the transfer window now closed his main focus was on the players he had got and surviving the upcoming relegation fight.
"What we have to do now is concentrate on the players we have. We need them to play to their maximum and elevate ourselves up the table," he added.
