Fulham are considering a £5million swoop for Bolton keeper Ali Al-Habsi, who is currently on loan at Wigan Athletic.

Al-Habsi is currently on a season-long loan stay at the DW Stadium but it has been claimed Fulham will test Bolton's resolve with a bid in the January transfer window.

Bolton can recall Al-Habsi from his loan stay at any time so they could potentially sell the stopper in the January transfer window if they wish.

Current Fulham number one Mark Schwarzer is out of contract at the end of the season and is yet to pen a new deal, leading boss Mark Hughes to look at potential replacements and Al-Habsi is believed to be a top target.

The Wanderers may consider allowing the Oman international the chance to move on, despite his impressive displays for Wigan, as youngster Adam Bogdan showed himself to be an able deputy to first-choice Jussi Jasskelainen when the Finnish star was suspended earlier in the season.

Wigan are also keen to snap up Al-Habsi and both the Latics and the Cottagers could battle for his signature in January.
