Reported Bolton target Edu says he is open to a move to England as his future at Valencia remains shrouded in doubt.

The former Arsenal midfielder still has two years to run on his current deal with Valencia but has been told by new coach Unai Emery that he is not in his future plans.

Bolton and Wigan have since been linked and the player would be interested in a return to the Premiership.

"If there is not a solution at Valencia I am open to trying a club abroad," said Edu. "England is an excellent country for a player and I have a good image in the Premier League. Still the issue is not clear."

Whether Bolton are keen remains to be seen. Trotters boss Gary Megson seems to have moved away from the old policy of signing experienced foreigners and has been trying to strengthen his squad with mainly young, athletic English players.
