Bolton boss Gary Megson says he will go back in for Sean Davies and Miguel Veloso in the summer after missing out in the winter window.
Megson failed with a £2million offer for Portsmouth's Davies, who is due to fall out of contract in the summer, while Sporting Lisbon also rejected his £12million bid for Veloso.
The Trotters boss says it was not a case of the players rejecting the move but the clubs involved refusing to sell them. Megson is confident he has got enough quality in his squad to get them through the rest of the season and will go back in for the duo when the transfer window opens again in the summer.
"It was a disappointment in two cases," Megson revealed. "We did try to sign the players at the end of the window, but everything needs to be right, and it wasn't.
"We couldn't swing it this time - but we'll revisit them in the summer, I'm sure.
"No players turned us down, it was the clubs who were not willing to let them go. We had to accept that, we weren't happy about it, but there is nothing we could do."
