Owen Coyle has confirmed that Darren Pratley will miss Bolton's clash with Wolves but will be back sooner than expected.

Pratley picked up a gash on his knee during the FA Cup defeat against Tottenham in midweek and it was originally thought he could be out of action for up to six weeks.

The injury is not as serious as first feared but he is definitely out of the crucial showdown at Molineux as Bolton look to make it three Premier League wins on the bounce.

"Darren is certainly unavailable for Saturday," Coyle said at his pre-match press conference. "He got a bad gash to his leg which required a lot of stitches.

"That hasn't helped because he has been in good form and doing very well for the football club, so we will just have to adjust accordingly.

"It was originally feared that it could be six weeks because it looked a deep wound. He went to hospital as he might have needed to have been operated on to clear it up.

"As it happened, they didn't have to do that but it still required stitches."
