Sporting star attracts Megson

Bolton have made a £5million offer for Sporting Lisbon's goal-scoring midfielder Simon Vukcevic, according to reports.

Wanderers boss Gary Megson has made no secret of his desire to beef up his squad to avoid another season flirting with near disaster and has already brought in Sweden international Johan Elmander from Toulouse for a club-record £10million and midfielder Fabrice Muamba from Birmingham.

Now, he is ready to spend again and has target Montenegro star Vukcevic, who only joined Sporting last summer and scored against Bolton in the Uefa Cup in March.

Reports claim a Wanderers delegation has flown out to Portugal to meet with Lisbon officials and 22-year-old Vukcevic's advisors.
