Star wants to taste derby win

BoltonGavin McCann has called for Wanderers to end their eight-and-half-year wait for a home win against rivals Blackburn next weekend.

The Trotters Wanderers last tasted victory in a home 'derby' when both teams were outside the top flight on February 5, 2000 - 10 games ago - and have not claimed three points at home in the Premier League since a 2-1 victory on April 11, 1998.

And, after losing home and away to the Ewood Park club last term, McCann has urged his team-mates to repeat their triumph at West Ham last weekend against Paul Ince's side.

"We needed a win going into the international break and if we can get another three points against Blackburn then we'll jump up the table," said the 30-year-old.

"When you win matches it gives you confidence so, hopefully, all the lads will be looking forward to our next match, especially with it being a local derby."
