Bolton could face a battle to keep hold of Mark Davies as the midfielder is on Newcastle's list of transfer targets.

The Shield Gazette claim that Newcastle boss Alan Pardew has already drawn up his list of transfer targets for the summer and say the former Wolves man is on it.

Davies has been one of the few shining lights in what has been a disappointing season for Wanderers and it comes as no surprise that rival clubs are starting to cast admiring glances towards the Reebok.

Trotters boss Owen Coyle rates the 23-year-old very highly and he is sure to reject all offers for the player but much will depend on what division Bolton find themselves in next season.

If they manage to beat the drop then Coyle will be in a strong position and should be able to rebuff any bids, but if they are relegated to the Championship then it will be difficult to keep hold.
