Bolton are showing an interest in River Plate midfielder Oscar Ahumada according to reports in Argentina.

The midfielder is due to fall out of contract next summer when he will be available on a free transfer but Trotters boss Gary Megson could swoop before then.

Megson wants at least one new midfielder when the transfer window opens and Ahumada is the latest name to be linked with a switch to the Reebok Stadium.

One problem could be the fact the player does not have a European passport and would need to obtain a work permit which is often a difficult process.
