Bolton target Ferrie Bodde has failed to show up for Swansea's first day of pre-season after the Trotters failed with a £2.5m bid.

Wanderers launched their bid for the Dutch playmaker last week but Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins said no deal as they try to hold out for at least £5million.

Bolton boss Gary Megson is now plotting his next move but in the meantime Bodde has failed to show up on the first day of pre-season, fuelling rumours over his future at the Liberty Stadium.

"We want to see how [Bodde's] knee is after the operation, to integrate him into our squad," Swans boss Paulo Sousa told BBC Sport Wales. "We believe Ferrie can play a high standard and we want him playing for us.

"I would welcome him back to be part of our squad, he's a talented player who can get us our results. We want everyone happy and committed at the club, if you don't have it you try to find a solution."
