Bolton boss Dougie Freedman believes his team are on the right track following their 2-2 draw at Huddersfield.

Mark Davies cancelled out Zat Knight's own goal before Chris Eagles put the Trotters ahead at the John Smith's Stadium.

James Vaughan grabbed a late equaliser for the hosts, but Freedman remains positive, with his side now having lost only once in their last eight matches.

He said: "I am very proud of that performance. I am excited about what we have to work with here.

"I understand people will be disappointed at some of the results, but from a coach's point of view, we keep putting in performances.

"Sometimes you don't get what you deserve but you just stick to your principles.

"We play on the front foot and we keep going. What we need to do now is change these draws into wins."

Freedman also added that he would not take Eagles off penalty duty, despite the winger's second successive miss from the spot.

Freedman said: "He showed his character by coming back to score the goal and I will leave it to him whether he wants to continue.

"I don't think he will give it up, but I will give him the option. He is a team player and will do what is best for the team."
