Rob Kiernan has gone back to Wigan at the end of his loan spell with Brentford.

The 21-year-old defender, who made seven appearances for the Bees, is due to play for Roberto Martinez's side against Bournemouth in the FA Cup on Saturday.

But Kiernan admits he could soon be back at Griffin Park for another loan stint.

"I'm going back with the intention of playing Bournemouth in the FA Cup on Saturday, so hopefully I can get a run-out in that," he told the Hounslow Chronicle.

"I think Brentford are quite keen to sort something out, so it's up to the Wigan manager really as the ball's in his court.

"I spoke to him and he wants me to come back for this game, then we'll sit down and have a chat about things.

"I would love to come back. I've really enjoyed my time at Brentford and it's been good to get some games under my belt."
