Brighton manager Gus Poyet was delighted with the way his players responded to a difficult week as they claimed a 2-1 npower Championship win at Peterborough.

Will Buckley netted both his team's goals at London Road, the first courtesy of a mistake by Posh goalkeeper Joe Lewis and the second a clinical finish to put Brighton back in front late on, after substitute David Ball had equalised for the hosts.

The victory came at the end of a week which saw five Seagulls players arrested and released on bail by police investigating an alleged sex attack on a woman.

Poyet said: "We managed to end on a high and I was delighted with the way everyone responded as things are slowly starting to come back for us on the field.

"We believe in the way we play and this showed against Peterborough. I think this was one of our best performances so far this season.

"Now everyone needs to relax and we have a couple of days off which will make all the difference before we start preparing for next weekend and the FA Cup meeting with Newcastle."
