McInnes bemoans poor playing surface
Bristol City boss Derek McInnes acknowledged his side had struggled to get to grips with the awkward playing conditions at Hull as they crashed to a 3-0 defeat.
The hosts took command with two headed goals in as many minutes from Jack Hobbs and Robert Koren before Matty Fryatt added a third in the second half.
"It is the worst pitch we have played on all season but it was the same for both teams," McInnes said.
"I feel for Hull playing on that pitch as they are a good footballing team and it doesn't do them any favours.
"The team that made the fewest mistakes was going to win the game and slack bits of play from us gave them two early goals.
"There were chances at both ends and we showed plenty of effort in the second half but it was too little too late as it was always going to be an uphill struggle."
