Contract rebel Adriano Basso is set for showdown talks with the club after being told to stay away from last weekend's game.
The Brazilian's deal is up next summer but he has refused to re-sign and was placed on the transfer list by boss Gary Johnson.
Johnson as recently as last week claimed fresh terms were still on the table but since then Basso reportedly revealed he wanted to quit in January - much to Johnson's annoyance.
The Ashton Gate chief told the BBC: "Unless someone is 100% behind what we're doing then they're not going to be involved.
"He decided through another vehicle to tell everyone that he was available in January.
"I'll talk to Basso on Monday. I asked him to not to come to the game as I didn't think he was going to be part of it, in his head as much as well as anything else."
Basso has ambition to play in the Premier League but Johnson is adamant he has received no interest in the 34-year-old keeper.
