Sheffield United have had an offer accepted by Bristol City for Michael McIndoe and the player will now discuss terms at Bramall Lane.
The former Doncaster and Wolves man is due to meet Blades officials in the next couple of days to try and finalise personal terms on a move back to South Yorkshire.
Blades boss Kevin Blackwell had tried to play down recent speculation linking him with a move for McIndoe, but the Robins have confirmed that an undisclosed fee has been agreed between the clubs.
Sheffield United, who have completed the capture of Kyel Reid after he passed a medical, will hope that they can complete the deal by next week with several other clubs keen on the player's services.
