Bristol City boss Gary Johnson has given permission for James Wilson to extend his loan spell at Brentford.
The teenage defender, a product of the club's academy, has already spent a month with the League Two club and may be included for their clash with Dagenham and Redbridge this weekend.
Johnson is more than happy for the teenage centre-back to prolong his stay in west London by a further two months, despite City being currently short of cover at the back.
The City boss retains the right to recall Wilson at short notice with Jamie McCombe, Christian Ribeiro and Jamie McAllister all on the injured list.
He said: "James will be staying with Brentford until the end of October.
"He's done really well there and we're delighted with his progress. I've spoken to Andy Scott after every game James has played and he's on the right lines.
"The lad is ready for first-team football and he is gaining valuable experience in the lower leagues."
Johnson is still to decide whether midfielder Frankie Artus will spend a second month with the Bees.
