Loan deal extended

Bristol CCity midfielder Scott Murray is set to stay with Cheltenham until the end of the year after having his loan extended by two months.

The 34-year-old veteran became new Cheltenham boss Martin Allen's first signing when he moved to Whaddon Road on an emergency one-month loan spell last month.

Murray has scored two goals for the League One side so far and Allen revealed that it was the midfielder's idea to extend his stay.

"This morning I have agreed with Bristol City to extend the loan of Scott Murray," Allen told the club's official website.

"I feel this is good news and it was Scott who came to me asking if he could stay, which is a good sign."
