Bristol City manager Gary Johnson has warned Middlesbrough that midfielder Marvin Elliott is not for sale.

Ashton Gate boss Johnson confirmed he had rejected an enquiry from an unnamed club - believed to be Boro - about the £2million-rated former Millwall man.

Johnson reiterated he had no desire to offload Elliott - or any of his star players - as he prepares for another assault on promotion from the Championship.

He said in the Daily Star: "There has been interest in Marvin, but I want to keep my best players, not sell them."
