Bristol City striker Brett Pitman has rejoined former club Bournemouth on loan with a view to a permanent move in January.
The 24-year-old, who scored 62 goals in 197 games before moving to Ashton Gate for a six-figure sum in August 2010, has found his first team opportunities restricted this season and this loan move will see him stay with the Cherries until January 3.
City manager Derek McInnes said: "This is a good chance to go and get regular match action, which Brett hasn't enjoyed here at Bristol City recently.
"He'll relish the chance of a return to Bournemouth and I'm sure he'll do well for them. I wish him luck with the loan. If all goes well then it could lead to something further."
Pitman started City's Capital One Cup clash with Gillingham at the start of the season and has been restricted to just three substitute appearances since. In total he has scored 20 goals in 81 outings for Bristol City.
