Bristol City will hold talks with Motherwell striker David Clarkson after agreeing an undisclosed fee for the 23-year-old.

The Robins have reportedly offered around £600,000 for a player who is out of contract in 12 months and will now meet the Scotland international to discuss terms.

A statement on City's website revealed: "Bristol City Football Club can confirm it has agreed an undisclosed fee with Motherwell for striker David Clarkson.

"The club has been given permission to speak to the player and will do so early next week.

"The club will make no further comment at this stage."
