Bristol Rovers boss John Ward refused to be downhearted after the Pirates' six-game unbeaten run was ended by Rotherham.

Kayode Odejayi and Lee Frecklington struck within two second half minutes to put the Millers on course for the points.

And even though Joe Anyinsah replied for Rovers with a swerving right-footed shot from the corner of the box Rotherham held out with few alarms.

"It was another positive display," Ward said. "We came up against a very good Rotherham side.

"The way the players and the fans responded to going two goals down was tremendous and typical of Bristol Rovers.

"We lost Fabian Broghammer to a tight hamstring and Ryan Brunt with a knee problem. I'm not sure yet how serious those injuries are.

"But we showed what we are about after the Rotherham goals and will not be letting our heads drop after the good run we were on going into the game."
