Bristol Rovers boss John Ward hopes to have striker Ryan Brunt back for the trip to Northampton.

The January signing from Stoke missed the 1-1 draw with Morecambe on Saturday after suffering a knee injury against Rotherham.

But a scan showed no serious damage and Ward is hopeful the 19-year-old will be able to feature at Sixfields.

However, Ward is expected to be without Seanan Clucas after he left the Globe Arena pitch on a stretcher having sustained a heavy blow to the knee.

David Clarkson (ankle) and Fabian Broghammer (hamstring) are both likely to miss out against a Cobblers side who boast the second best home record in the division.

Having lost just twice in 2013, Rovers are now six points clear of the npower League Two relegation zone.
