Defensive headache for Dyche

Burnley boss Sean Dyche remains without defenders Ben Mee and Michael Duff for Middlesbrough's npower Championship visit to Turf Moor.

Mee is still recovering from a medial knee ligament injury sustained during December's east Lancashire derby with Blackburn, while centre-back Duff suffered a calf strain on his return from a hamstring problem and is expected to be sidelined for at least another week.

Sam Vokes is pushing for inclusion after scoring twice for the reserves against Stoke last Tuesday.

The Wales international striker sustained a blow to his foot in the process but Dyche is confident of having him available.

"It's just a kick and it's just soft tissue damage and we are letting that settle down," he told the club's official website. "We have got to be careful with him, but he's winning the battle."

Victory will take Dyche's men to within four points of six-placed Boro, who have slumped to six defeats in their last seven league outings.
