Sean Dyche is pleased with the progress Burnley are making despite Saturday's 1-0 home defeat against 10-man Charlton.

Dyche's perfect start to managerial life at Turf Moor has ended with back-to-back defeats, with the weekend's loss only their second home defeat of the season.

But the former Watford manager remains optimistic about his team's future prospects.

He told the Lancashire Telegraph: "The performance was excellent, there were so many positives. The crowd went away knowing their team has given everything.

"It's difficult to win every game but with performances like that there's a big future.

"You've got to look at the performance as well as the outcome and they've shown clear, visual signs to all inside the stadium of what we're attempting to do."
