Fletcher close to Wolves move

Wolves are in talks with Burnley's Scotland striker Steven Fletcher over a move to the club after a fee was apparently agreed.

Burnley had been holding out for £7m for the striker and with plenty of clubs looking to land him it looks as though they will get the money they are looking for.

Wolves sold Chris Iwelumo to Burnley on Tuesday for an 'undisclosed fee' although both sides claim this has no bearing on the Fletcher move according to Clarets boss Brian Laws.

He told the club's website: "People may read into the fact that Chris Iwelumo is a possible replacement for Fletcher, which is not the case," said the Clarets manager.

"We don't want Steven to go. But, if he decides to leave, we will replace him.

"We need power and strength because the Championship is a very physical league, hence Chris's arrival.

"But I'm still looking for a goalscorer to complement my squad."
