Haynes a pain for Clarets

Danny Haynes struck a second-half winner as Charlton won 1-0 at 10-man Burnley to register a third consecutive npower Championship victory.

Sean Dyche's Clarets were a man down after 15 minutes when Kieran Trippier handled on the goalline amid a penalty-box melee.

But the visitors were unable to capitalise, as Johnnie Jackson's spot-kick was kept out by Burnley goalkeeper Lee Grant.

The 10 men were almost ahead after the half hour when Brian Stock's rasping 30-yard shot had Ben Hamer at full-stretch to turn behind, before the Addicks keeper denied Michael Duff from the subsequent corner with his legs.

The hosts continued to create chances after the interval and Charlie Austin fashioned one of his own making, bundling Eggert Jonsson off the ball and curling wide from the edge of the box.

Chris Powell's men stole the win in the 69th minute when Rob Hulse headed back across goal to leave Haynes with a simple finish.
