Burnley manager Eddie Howe has a battle ahead of him to keep Jay Rodriguez at Turf Moor this summer.

The 22-year-old has notched 21 goals in all competitions this campaign and while Howe expects interest, he is hoping to keep the homegrown striker at the club for even longer.

"I'm sure there will be clubs looking at him so we'll wait and see on that one," Howe told BBC Lancashire. "I'm sure it will be difficult to keep hold of him, but we would love to."

Rodriguez is currently suffering from a hip problem which is threatening to rule him out for the rest of the season and Clarets fans will be worried that they have seen him play his last game in a Burnley shirt as Premier League clubs begin to sniff around.

"Any Premier League team that watches our games and does their homework will see what a season he's had," Howe added.

"They'll look at his age, his goalscoring record and all of the attributes that he's got."
