Burnley boss Owen Coyle has continued his spending spree by adding Newcastle United defender David Edgar to his squad.
Edgar is a Canadian Under 20 international, who was on the cusp of regular first team football with the Magpies having played seven first team games last season, including the final match of the campaign at Aston Villa where he was sent off.
The former captain of Newcastle's reserve team has a big future ahead of him in the game and, at just 22 years of age, he has time on his side.
Burnley will have to come to a compensation agreement with Newcastle for his services or go to a tribunal. Edgar will become the third addition of the week following Tyrone Mears and Scotland international Steven Fletcher.
