Burnley will unveil right-back Tyrone Mears as their first summer signing today when he completes a £500,000 move from Derby.

Mears interrupted a family holiday to discuss personal terms with manager Owen Coyle and the Turf Moor club and he was expected to be unveiled today upon completion of his medical.

His agent, Willie McKay, said: "Tyrone has agreed personal terms and passed a medical at Burnley, and has agreed a three-year deal.

"He is really excited by the move and is looking forward to helping Burnley in their first season in first season in the Premier League."

Coyle will not rest on his laurels and following the signing of Mears will move quickly to add more quality to his squad as he prepares for life in the top flight.
