Tough stars for Clarets

Last Updated: Wed, 18 Jun 2014 09:31

Burnley have been handed a mouth-watering home clash against Jose Mourinho's Chelsea on the opening weekend of the Premier League.

Sean Dyche's men have been given a baptism of fire following their automatic promotion from the Championship last season as they welcome the Blues to Turf Moor on the weekend of August 16.

The Clarets then travel to Swansea before another huge home clash against Louis Van Gaal's Manchester United on August 30 - a game they won 1-0 in 2009-10 thanks to a Robbie Blake strike.

They host Liverpool on Boxing Day and visit reigning champions Manchester City on December 28.

Dyche's men face a favourable run-in, though, as May consists of games away at West Ham and Hull followed by the visit of Stoke and a final day trip to Aston Villa.
