Bishop back with Shakers

New Bury boss Kevin Blackwell has recalled Andy Bishop from his loan spell at Bury.

Bishop requested a loan move to rebuild his confidence in front of goal after going 21 games without a strike to his name for the Shakers - a barren run stretching back to Boxing Day.

Despite initial delays due to international clearance, the 29-year-old's move to the Red Dragons appears to have done the trick with him scoring twice in four games.

Blackwell wants to assess all the options at his disposal after being named as Richie Barker's permanent successor last week and Bishop could feature for the npower League One basement boys against Swindon this weekend.

"It's a shame that we're losing him. I've known Bish for quite a while and he certainly enjoyed his spell with us," Wrexham player-manager Andy Morrell told BBC Sport.

"He brought a different dimension to the team and I'm sorry to see him departing. Hopefully, his time with us will help him as an individual and we can only thank him for his efforts on our behalf."
