Bury boss Kevin Blackwell will continue his quest for reinforcements after their 2-0 defeat at Sheffield United.

The former Blades boss, who saw his side downed by goals from Jonathan Forte and Jamie Murphy, is attempting to keep the struggling Shakers up on a shoestring budget but admitted he needs to bolster his squad.

He said: "We're in trouble but what we've shown is we're capable of playing against anyone.

"We don't have the depth of squad to carry any injuries so if two or three are a bit below par we're not strong enough to be able to change it.

"That's an Achilles heel for us and we know that.

"After a setback like this we have to get back up and dust ourselves off again.

"This is going to be a tough job but we're capable now and we've shown people we're capable.

"We've had it all this year, it's been interesting. It was never going to be easy to get out of this but we're going to keep fighting.

"We're panning for gold here because we need to find someone who fits the bill, at this standard, is out of contract and will play for nothing.

"I need another centre-half and I need another midfield player. The search will not stop but we need to find the right players."
