Seb Carole and Gregg Wylde are hoping to make their Bury debuts when Southend visit Gigg Lane in the second round of the FA Cup.

Former Brighton midfielder Carole, who played under Shakers boss Kevin Blackwell during his time at Leeds, has agreed non-contract terms having impressed during a trial spell.

Wylde joined on loan from Bolton last week, but the ex-Rangers youngster was handed a watching brief by Blackwell for Saturday's 2-2 draw with Bournemouth

Leicester's decision to make young forward Tom Hopper unavailable for cup action is expected to open the door to Wylde, while fellow loanees Matt Doherty, Zac Thompson and Troy Hewitt are all eligible.

Centre-back Adam Lockwood is set for two further weeks on the sidelines due to a groin tear, while captain Steven Schumacher misses out in central midfield with ankle ligament damage that is set to keep him sidelined for up to a month.

Strikers David Healy (calf) and Andy Bishop (foot) remain out along with fellow forward Lenell John-Lewis (knee). Defender Phil Picken (knee) is a long-term absentee.
