Bluebirds close in on Premiership striker

CardiffCardiff are said to be on the verge of completing a loan move for Fulham's US international striker Eddie Johnson.

The deal is still subject to a work permit being granted, but the two clubs are said to have reached an agreement over the 23-year-old with it due to happen next week.

The move will initially be a loan for a year, although Fulham want a clause in the contract which would allow him to return in January if things were not going as planned.

Johnson moved to Craven Cottage from Kansas City Wizards and signed a three-and-a-half year deal thought to be worth about £1.6m.
