Cardif have completed the signing of Anthony Gerrard from Walsall for a fee thought to be around £200,000.

Boss Dave Jones believes he has unearthed another gem, to follow the likes of Glenn Loovens, by signing the 23-year-old cousin of Liverpool's skipper Steven.

Meanwhile last season's top scorer Ross McCormack has pledged his future to the club by signing a new four-year contract.

The 22-year-old netted 23 times last season and he is looking to push on and score the goals which will lift the side towards a Premiership place.

"I want the opportunity to go that step farther than we did last season, along with all the lads," McCormack told Wales online. "I'm really pleased to have sorted things out."
