Cardiff are being linked with a move for former Chelsea striker Salomon Kalou who claims he wants to return to England.
The Ivory Coast striker has been in France for the past season with Lille but, despite a successful season where he netted 14 times in 28 games, he misses the cut and thrust of English football and wants to come back.
Cardiff boss Malky Mackay is looking to strengthen his squad as he prepares for life in the top flight for the first time in 50 years and Kalou is thought to be on his wish list.
"Playing in the Premier League was amazing and I want to have that feeling again," said Kalou.
"It is still the best league in the world. The supporters there are so passionate and know everything about the game.
"You see fans making fun of their opponents and singing songs and in other places you don't have that. It gives England an extra edge."
