Cardiff boss Malky Mackay was left disappointed by the home defeat to Newcastle and has warned his side not to rest on their laurels.
The Bluebirds had been going along nicely in their first season in the Premier League and the win last weekend away at Fulham had left them nicely in mid-table.
That all unravelled with the home defeat to Newcastle on Saturday, however, where they were slow out of the blocks particularly in the first half and Mackay has warned his side they must be at their best for every game.
"If we don't start the way we know, we struggle," said Mackay. "It has only happened on four or five occasions in the time I have been here.
"It was something my staff and I recognised at half-time, and it wasn't anything tactical we changed.
"But it was about players stepping about and getting to the ball, picking up runners and that is what we did."
