Cardiff linked with striker

Last Updated: Thu, 21 Nov 2013 09:38

Cardiff boss Malky Mackay is set to battle it out with Elche for Braga frontman Hugo Vieira, according to reports in Portugal.

Having played just 57 minutes so far this season he has fallen out of favour with Braga and they are prepared to allow him to leave in January for either a move or a loan deal, but Cardiff have rivals and Spanish side Elche are also interested in Vieira

Goals have been hard to come by for Mackay's men this season and defender Steven Caulker is the club's joint-top scorer with midfielder Jordan Mutch and striker Fraizer Campbell on two goals each, so the need for a striker is high on Mackay's agenda.
