Cardiff new boy Michael Chopra is eyeing promotion after sealing a reported £4m return from Sunderland on a three-year deal.

The 25-year-old former Newcastle youngster has spent two spells back on loan with the Bluebirds from the Black Cats after his move to the Stadium of Light in 2007 never worked out.

And now he is back in Wales, Chopra is eyeing a push for the Premier League during the forthcoming campaign.

He told Cardiff's website: "I'm really glad it's all sorted now and, like all the other lads, I'm excited and determined to go that extra mile to gain promotion.

"We are putting 110% into training and there is a good feeling within the squad. The new stadium looks magnificent and the lads can't wait for the opener against Scunthorpe."
