Christmas crucial to Cardiff - keeper

Last Updated: Wed, 11 Dec 2013 09:51

Cardiff keeper David Marshall has admitted that the festive period is going to be crucial to the Bluebirds survival hopes.

Cardiff have home clashes with West Brom, Southampton and Sunderland over the festive period and they will be looking to pick up a decent haul of points from those games as their two away matches in what remains of December are at Liverpool and Arsenal.

A good start to the season has been undermined by a poor recent run which has seen them garner just six points from their last possible 27 and Marshall knows they need to improve.

"We're doing reasonably well overall, but we need to work hard over the festive period. These games could be key," Marshall told Wales online.
