Cardiff have been handed a boost on the injury front with the news that Aron Gunnarsson should be fit for the start of the season.
The Icelandic midfielder damaged his shoulder on international duty last week and there were fears that he would miss the start of the new Premier League campaign with the problem.
Although they will not know finally until next week boss Malky Mackay is keeping his fingers crossed that the 24-year-old will be fit to play when the Premier League kicks off on August 17.
"We think at this point Aron will be OK for the start of the season," said Mackay.
"But things are on-going at the moment and we should have a much clearer picture next week."
