Race hots up for Bluebirds ace

Last Updated: Tue, 21 Jan 2014 13:35

Cardiff defender John Brayford is being chased by a host of clubs who are keen to take him on loan before the transfer deadline.

The 26-year-old has struggled to make an impact with Cardiff since arriving from Derby in a deal worth £1.5million and his former boss at Pride Park, Nigel Clough is keen to sign him.

Clough is now in charge of League One club Sheffield United and is keen to take him on loan, however he faces strong competition for the player's services.

There is interest from the Championship with Blackpool, Bournemouth and Ipswich all keen, but Brayford may still prefer to link up with Clough at Bramall Lane.
