International ace in Town's sights

CelticIpswich boss Jim Magilton is keen to hold transfer talks with Celtic defender Bobo Balde as he bids to beef up his defence.

The Portman Road chief has been alerted to the Guinea international's availability after his wage demands saw a switch to Championship rivals Wolves collapse.

Balde has been back with the Bhoys for pre-season and Magilton is eager to meet the 32-year-old who is also interesting Birmingham.

He told the Evening Star: "Bobo has been made available by Celtic and we would like a conversation with him.

"If we can get him down and have a chat then we would like to, but it would be down to him and his advisors."

Magilton added: "I know Birmingham are very interested, but we have shown our interest so if we can get him here for a chat then you never know."
